So much for sticking it out behind bars.

Mere hours after Colorado's Pitkin County Police Department reported that Charlie Sheen would remain in custody until his yet-to-be-scheduled court appearance, the Golden Globe winner has been released from jail following a meeting with a county judge.

Sheen posted a standard $8,500 bond at 7 p.m. Friday, cutting his stay much shorter than originally planned.

The former Spin City star was arrested on felony domestic violence charges Friday morning and is expected to appear in a Pitkin County courtroom for his first hearing on Feb. 8, 2010.
