Team Tiger got a special visit this weekend...from the Florida Department of Children and Families. You bet they did.

The Orange County Sheriff's Office has confirmed that its deputies accompanied representatives from the state's family services agency to a drop-in Saturday on the home shared by Woods, wife Elin Nordegren and their two young children.

"Deputies assisted the DCF staff member with gaining access to the community," the sheriff's Public Information Office says. "The Orange County Sheriff's Office did not write a report nor did it initiate a criminal investigation as a result of this assist call."

For its part, the state DCF was mum on the reason behind the call or the outcome.

"Florida law requires that all concerns reported to the Florida Department of Children and Families regarding the safety of a child or a vulnerable adult are confidential," FDCF spokeswoman Carrie Hoeppner tells E! News.

"The department fully explores reported abuse concerns and may respond through a well-being check or a protective investigation. The goal, always, is to ensure that children and vulnerable adults are safe, that their caregivers are providing appropriate care and that they are living in a healthy environment."

A former state prosecutor with experience in such matters tells E! News that it is common for child services to meet with a family whenever domestic violence is alleged—even when charges are not filed, as is the case with Woods and Nordegren.
