Orlando Bloom's Suspected Burglar Ordered to Trial

At least one member of the Hollywood Burglar Bunch is set to face a jury.
Wannabe star Alexis Neiers appeared in court today, where she was ordered to stand trial for breaking into Orlando Bloom's home in July. Judge Darrell Mavis scheduled her arraignment for Dec. 15.
"We successfully made it through the day," Neiers' attorney, Jeffrey Rubenstein, said outside the courthouse.
Neiers is charged alongside Nicholas Prugo for the Bloom heist. Some of their alleged pals have also been arrested for targeting celebrities' homes, including those of Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan. Several of the others are due in court tomorrow.
Det. Brett Goodkin told the court that Prugo identified himself, Neiers and fellow suspects Rachel Lee and Diana Tamayo in a surveillance video taken on Bloom's property at around 3 a.m. on the day of the crime. The four people on the tape were wearing hoodies pulled tight around their faces.
The suspects were at the home for at least two hours, judging by the tape, Goodkin said. The person identified as Neiers was seen going back and forth to their car multiple times, her arms full of stuff, he added.
According to investigators, Neiers told them that her mom kicked her out and she had been living with Prugo when the break-in occurred. She got "extremely intoxicated" that night at the Hollywood restaurant Beso and, when Lee called Prugo, Neiers thought they were going to meet up with Lee's friend.
Instead, they ended up at Bloom's house, where, Neiers told the cops, she became physically ill.
She denied taking anything out of the house herself, but admitted to helping Prugo pull a large duffel bag through the fence, Goodkin said.
The prosecution pointed out that she was able to provide a highly detailed account of the night, despite her claim that she was very intoxicated.
Under cross-examination, Goodkin defended Prugo's story when the defense argued that it was impossible to positively I.D. any of the suspects by the surveillance footage.
"I don't believe Mr. Prugo's ever lied to me," the detective said. "I can tell you, with one exception, everything Mr. Prugo has told me during the investigation has turned out to be accurate."
Rubenstein entered an innocent plea on Neiers' behalf last month.
She and her family were the subject of a pilot for E!. In a previous statement, the network said, "We are concerned by recent events, awaiting further details and will be monitoring the situation closely."
