He may have been born in the USA, but Bruce Springsteen could use a good map.

The Boss pulled a Britney Spears during a Friday night concert when he shouted, "Hello, Ohio!"...to a crowd in Michigan.

The 60-year-old geographically challeneged "Badlands" crooner referenced the Buckeye State three separate times during the gig at the Palace of Auburn Hills.

That was until E Street Band guitarist Steve Van Zandt stepped in and saved him.

"I just grabbed him and said, 'You don't realize it, but you're saying Ohio and we're in Michigan.' He said 'What?!?' " Van Zandt recounted to Rolling Stone. "In his mind he knew he was in Detroit, but somehow Detroit wound up in Ohio for a minute."

While the mixed-up Springsteen probably felt like he was born to run at that point, he just grinned and rocked on through a three-hour concert.
