The newest stars of Real Housewives of Atlanta have been devastated by tragedy.

Ashley "A.J." Jewell, the on-off fiancé of songbird Kandi Burruss, has died after a fight outside an Atlanta area strip club.

"It appears he was involved in an altercation in the parking lot and he received a severe blow to the head," Atlanta Police Lt. Keith Meadows told reporters.

Burruss tweeted shortly after the news broke: "I could never n a million years imagine this happening. please pray for A.J.'s children. that's who im the most concerned 4."

After telling fans that she was on her way to her uncle's funeral, the 33-year-old Grammy winner continued, "im just in one of those moods where i dont wanna talk, i dont wanna b held & told its gonna b ok. i just wanna cry myself 2 sleep, alone."

Atlanta police have charged Fredrick Richardson with voluntary manslaughter.

The second season of RHA has followed the pair as they planned their wedding, raised their collective seven children (six of which are A.J.'s) and dealt with constant disapproval from Kandi's mother.
