America, can you think of a situation where it's appropriate to wear frayed denim?

We initially dismissed the outfit Emmanuelle Chriqui wore at the Cinema Society and Hugo Boss screening of Inglourious Basterds as being totally uninteresting.

That is, until we noticed the frayed denim strings dangling—no, taunting us—from her skirt hem.

See, unless you're on a dating reality show starring Bret Michaels or the guest of honor at an intervention, you should never wear frayed denim. It's tacky, it's unsightly and even worse, it's completely outdated.

This is a red carpet event, darling. Go home and put your big-girl bottoms on!
