Talk about a return of the king.
If this trailer for The Lovely Bones is any indication, Lord of the Rings director Peter Jackson will be back in a big way this December when his adaptation of the Alice Sebold best-seller hits theaters.
The film, which revolves around a murdered 14-year-old girl who is able to watch over the lives of her family and her killer from heaven, is certainly a far cry from Middle-earth, but the afterlife aspect does allow the guy who gave us Gollum a chance to serve up some pretty cool special effects.
Oh yeah, and having a cast that includes Mark Wahlberg, Susan Sarandon, Rachel Weisz, Stanley Tucci and Atonement star Saoirse Ronan in the lead probably doesn't hurt either.

Speaking of Peter Jackson, what's up with The Hobbit?
