Maybe Mariah Carey should've just let sleeping dawgs lie.

Because Eminem has once again reached into his seemingly bottomless bag of rhyming celebrity disses and pulled out a new diatribe directed at Mr. and Mrs. Nick Cannon. And though he's never needed a good reason to drop names, this time he's firing back at Carey's Slim Shady-channeling video for her single "Obsession."

"I got the exact same tattoo that's on Nick's back, I'm obsessed now, oh gee, is that supposed to be me in the video with the goatee," raps Eminem on his new track "The Warning."

He goes on to gloat about the time Mariah "was wild 'n' out before Nick" and when he himself gave Carey "somethin' to smile about." And it gets grosser from there.

So why again is Eminem trying to shove his alleged sexual history down Cannon's throat?

See, Carey has made light of her reported six-month dalliance with Mr. Marshall Mathers back in 2001, and her fellow Grammy winner ain't having it.

Eminem gave Carey a shout-out in his recent tune "Bagpipes From Baghdad," which included a suggestion to Cannon to "back the f--k up."

Cannon then blogged in May about how "homeboy is still obsessed with my wife."

"I realized that this so-called man has just disrespected...one of the world's most significantly influential artists, one of the most notable black females of our time, the incredibly cherished, globally loved and world-embraced woman of color, Mariah Carey," Cannon wrote.

So then Eminem's panties were really in a twist. A few days later, he implied to listeners of the satellite radio show he was hosting that he had once urinated on the diva. On purpose.

So can you really blame Carey for kinda dressing up like Eminem and poking fun at him in her "Obsessed" video?

Which brings us to "The Warning":

"You probably think since it's been so long if I had something on you I
woulda did it by now, on the contrary, Mary Poppins, I'm mixing our studio session down and sending it to mastering to make it loud, enough dirt on you to murder you, this is what the f--k I do...

"Mariah, it ever occur to you that I still have pictures?"

Oh, boy.

"But if I'm embarrassing me, I'm embarrassing you and don't you dare say it isn't true," he continues later in the track.

"As long as the song's getting airplay I'm dissing you, I'm a hair away from getting carried away and getting sued, I was gonna stop at 16, this is 32, this is 34 bars, we ain't even a third of the way through."

Just so long as, overall, we're almost at the end.

(Alas, we have to send you elsewhere for the full scope of Eminem's diss talents, due to all the salty language.)
