Four months ago, Lindsay Lohan may or may not have accidentally walked out of a NYC nightclub with this $11,000 blond mink coat.

The jacket's owner—a Columbia University student who received the garment as a gift from her grandma—claims she later saw LiLo wearing said coat in OK! magazine, got her lawyers involved and got it back from 1 Oak nightclub "reeking of cigarettes and booze with a slight tear in the lining."

The fur was patched up good as new, but now the college coed wants a $10,000 "rental" fee for the three weeks it was missing.

We say this "as worn by" coat has gotten more press (here, here and here) and achieved a greater degree of fame than most H'wood wannabes could ever dream of. For that, the girl should pay Linds—the thing could net a fortune on eBay.

I agree. Fame isn't the point. The point is Lindsay took something that wasn't hers and should have to pay a price. Rental is the way to go!

Perhaps this coed is trying to get herself money or just publicity, but come on here. Ultimately, Lindsay Lohan stole her coat, and that's simply wrong. And it's not like Lindsay is exactly hard up for money- she should pay the coed already and remember the lesson we all learn in kindergarten: Don't take things that don't belong to you.

Ok, first, I love that my code word was 'blood' how appropriate. Now my question, how much does the Columbia student have to pay the minks that were slaughtered to make that monstrosity? We all know that Lilo is a low-class skank, but now you have to color Columbia students the same? Nice work!

Once again, no surprise..She has already stolen thousands of dollars worth of clothes from her "friends" so what's the big deal about a fur coat from a complete stranger?!! The owner is just lucky enough to have caught her "accidentally" wearing it. Lindsay needs to pay up! (For the coat, and everything else she's stolen from people)

I know someone who thinks her purse was stolen by either Lindsay or her bodyguards at a club in L.A. So, the fact that Lindsay stole this girl's coat doesn't surprise me one bit.

Wow. What idiot wears a mink coat to a nightclub anyway? Not that it's somehow acceptable for it to have been stolen, but still, I hope the owner has more academic smarts than she obviously has common sense. Otherwise somebody just wasted some tuition money!

Didn't she claim to love animals and oppose animal cruelty? Way to make a mends for being a complete and total horridly spoiled brat. It doesn't matter what the item was that she stole, Lindsay should be charged with theft and pay the penalty. The girl who owned it was no doubt heart sick that a gift from her grandmother was stolen and probably went through a very depressing time. She should be compensated for that. Lindsay needs to be taught a lesson harsh enough that she'll think twice before she entertains thoughts of "What's yours is mine" again.

i agree with tiffany, despite the shouting. who knows what Lindsay wore to the club? maybe she had a similar coat. she probably has thousands of outfits and doesn't remember what her stylist told her to wear just a few hours before.
