Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon aren't just dreamlovers anymore.
Family member Linda Cannon has confirmed to E! News that the couple are, in fact, married.
"Yes, we know," she says. "He called us and told us all about it. We are happy for him. If that is what he wants then we are happy for him."
Linda Cannon wouldn't confirm an earlier report that had the impromptu nuptials taking place yesterday at Carey's new home in the Bahamas, only that Nick and his platinum-selling girlfriend have made it official.
"I’m not going to give you any details, but we are happy for him."
Earlier today, a rep for jeweler Jacob & Co. confirmed that Cannon shelled out $2.5 million for the 17-carat finger candy spotted recently on Carey's left hand.
This is the second trip down the aisle for Carey, 39. She split from recording-industry honcho Tommy Mottola in 1998 after five years of marriage.
Cannon, 27, was previously engaged to model Selita Ebanks, but this is his first time taking the plunge.

what in the ************************ I guess everyone in the "industry" is just plain desperate. There is no telling who wil get married next, maybe its a rule to marry someone that's sort of famous(nick cannon). Good luck with that one. LOL!!!!!!!!!!

I am not trying to be a hater but...I didn't even know they were dating...how the **** did Nick Canon score Mariah...oh wait I forgot about the rock on her hand...I guess money cant buy happiness but a 17 carat ring can buy Mariah...good luck to the new couple.

WHO GIVES A FLYING FECES!!!Sweet Jesus! Breaking into shows, that HAVE revelance to more important stuff, there is a constant banner breaking news. His family says they are happy IF THAT IS what he wants. OHHHHH Slapped in the face with that comment to the blushing bride. But really, enough of the crapola. Maybe after a few months and the sparkle wears off, they will file an annulment? Maybe THOSE in Gollywood who STOOD the test of time should be the ones noteworthy on TV.

I heard that the marriage was rushed and there isn't no PRE-NUP. How stupid is that? If they divorce, he is getting a BIG chunk of her money$. They have been dating for several weeks. I hope she isn't having another breakdown. Nick is broke and a loser. Nick has been known to date women that are more successful than him. So, he can be seen in the lime light. Mariah you had made a BIG MISTAKE.

dudeee, this has got to be the most random act of "love" iv ever seen. Did anyone even know they were going out * i didnt * i give the marrige at least 7 months, what was she thinking marry a immature 5 year old like nick cannon * all he want is her money cuz i positve that he wasted everthing he earned on that ring alone, and she proboly gonna keep it when they divorce * And she like old enough to be his mother! wtfudge *
