Some say he was happy, healthy and raring to go. Some now say he was too frail to make it happen.

Either way, when Michael Jackson died last month, millions were left wondering what might have been if his comeback concert series in London, which was due to kick off tonight at O2 Arena, had gone on as scheduled.

Sadly, instead of covering the opening night of said spectacle, all we've got is an image of the hundreds of fans who laid flowers and candles outside the AEG Live-owned venue Monday in tribute to the fallen star.

Those who gathered to miss the King of Pop as a cohesive unit watched clips of Jackson performances on a large screen set up outside. Some fans danced, some scrawled written missives to lay beside the votives and bouquets.

It was a poor substitute for what was supposed to go on today, but it was all they were going to get.
