The universe will not allow the whole Cyrus family to be happy. Gotta keep things in balance, that's The Secret or whatever.

Take Ms. Miley Cyrus. She declared herself :) to be single: "I am lovinggg being single :) life is so carefree!!! Spending the day enjoying Sonic, Music, @mommytish, and the beautiful sun in Savannah."

Could that mean she and Nick Jonas aren't really back together? Did all that jet skiing mean nothing? And how can she be so happy about it ending so soon if that's what really happened?

Oh, turns out Miley isn't so :) about her singledom. Just a few hours later she came down with a mean case of the sads. A sampling:

"Why do I listen to songs that make me cry? Even better question, why do I listen to songs that make me miss you?...Dear GOD, I would like a boy that is like John Mayer/ James Morrison/ Elvis/ Rob Thomas all in one. YOU'RE THE BEST! Love always, Miley...Woke up at 4 a.m. for no other reason than I miss you...my heart is hurting today :("

So many feelings. Good thing there's Twitter to work this stuff out. How else could she express all these emotions? Songwriting?

It's not all gloom and broken hearts in the Cyrus fam, though. Metro Station frontman Trace Cyrus is taking a cue from the ol' Romancing 16-year-old Disney Stars for 20-year-old Dummies, a New York Times best seller by Justin Gaston, and twittermancing Demi Lovato:

"@ddlovato you don't realize how excited I am! My tour manger is bookin my flight now! Your all I've thought about ever since I left town. <3"

And Demi's eating it up: "@tracecyrus soon! :D I'm so excited!!!! <3"

So much <3 in the Twitterverse. But what they say is true: you can't have <3, without the :( so hang in there, Miles.

Head over to our Twitter @eonline, where the celebrity headlines are a roller coaster of :)'s and :('s, just like Miley's heart.
