USA Orders a Criminal Renewal

Crime pays for USA.
The cable net has ordered an additional 16-episode season of Law & Order: Criminal Intent to begin airing this fall.
The renewal marks the series' eighth season overall but its second season on the cable channel, having made the jump from NBC just last year. As with the last season, episodes may occasionally make the move back to the network, repurposed to fill holes in the Peacock's prime-time schedule.
All the regular players—Vincent D'Onofrio, Chris Noth, Eric Bogosian, Julianne Nicholson and Kathryn Erbe—are renegotiating their contracts and all are expected to return for the new season.
The eighth season got the greenlight before the seventh has finished its run. The show's current season was split into two parts, with the first 10 episodes having already aired. The remaining episodes will anchor a special summer season for USA, set to begin June 8.
