Mark Burnett: Don't Mess With Susan Boyle!

Mark Burnett isn't surprised by Susan Boyle's recent cuss-filled outburst. Sadly, he thinks it's going to cause some copycat instigators.

"It will get worse because people will go after her to try to get her riled up," Burnett tells me. "But she probably won't put up with any of it. She's a blue-collar Scottish woman from a little village!"

He does not think the negative press will affect her popularity and growing fame…

"I think she's an inspirational dream for ordinary-looking people everywhere to say you don't have to have the stereotypical Hollywood starlet look to get attention," explains Burnett, the man behind music reality shows like Rock Star and the new StarMaker with Sean "Diddy" Combs, along with the Survivor and Apprentice franchises.

"She has talent and that's what [Britain's Got Talent!] stands for."

But nothing could compare to the hysteria that is Twilight. Burnett should know: He's executive producer of Sunday's MTV Movie Awards. You know, the show that will debut the new, never-before-seen trailer for New Moon.

"When I knew, personally, that it was really something was when I told my 13-year-old daughter what we got, she was like, 'What? Are you kidding? Oh my god!'" Burnett remembers. "I was like, 'You can't tell anybody at school!' "

As for host Andy Samberg's jizzy humor, Burnett promises he has not put any limitations on the Saturday Night Live funnyman. "We have a delay," he said. "Let's just hope the person on the delay button is awake."
