Stop us if you've heard this one before: Tom Sizemore's in the slammer.

The actor known for his star turns in Saving Private Ryan, Black Hawk Down and police blotters across California was collared early this morning in Hollywood on a outstanding drug warrant, E! News has confirmed.

The 47-year-old Sizemore was detained after officers responded to a call of shots being fired and discovered him and another man milling about.

"They saw two males, detained them, then questioned them. One was arrested for narcotics and the other [Sizemore] for an outstanding warrant in Bakersfield [Calif.]," says Norma Eisenman, a spokeswoman for the Los Angeles Police Department.

The trouble-prone thespian will remain locked up in the LAPD's Hollywood station until he's transferred to Bakersfield to face the music on a $25,000 warrant. According to Bakersfield Police Detective Greg Terry, the warrant was issued after Sizemore violated the terms of his sentence in a 2007 drug case.

Sizemore was busted in the central California town after cops found him and a buddy sitting on a stash of crystal meth and other drug paraphernalia in the parking lot of a local hotel.

The incident cost him 16 months in jail because it violated his probation in a separate 2004 drug case. He ended up serving half his sentence after being credited with various stints in rehab and good behavior.

Sizemore subsequently pleaded no contest to one count of transporting drugs for personal use. In return, Bakersfield prosecutors dismissed five felony charges. Sizemore was sentenced to a live-in drug-treatment program and put on more probation, with the caveat that should he slip up, he could wind up behind bars for four years.

Prosecutors have yet to announce whether they will ask for his probation to be revoked following yesterday's arrest.
