Tom Hanks Talks Julia Roberts and Her F-Bombs

Angels & Demons star was pleased his friend turned the Lincoln Center into more of a roast

Despite her potty mouth, Julia Roberts is still a pretty woman in Tom Hanks' eyes.

The actor received quite the toast roast from his Charlie Wilson's War costar at an event in his honor at Lincoln Center last week. Instead of feting the star, Roberts went on an F-bomb infused tirade about his worst works and how much everyone bleeping loves him.

While promoting his latest film, Angels & Demons, Hanks smiled as he talked about the evening that would have been an awards-show producer's worst nightmare.

"She laid into me, and then everybody else started doing the same thing," he tells E! News. "She is so much of a template, that lady! Everybody loves [Julia], and she decided to get right to the point and cut loose and turn the evening into what it was really meant to be."

Which was, it seems, preferable.

"It was a fabulous night, it was great fun," Hanks said. "Everybody laughed."
