Vanessa Hudgens Settles Up With Ex-Producer

Vanessa Hudgens is finally through with this not-quite-Beastly business.

Less than two weeks before the case was set to go to trial, the High School Musical star has reached a settlement in a breach-of-contract lawsuit brought against her by a music producer she worked with earlier in her career.

Details of the agreement were not available, but plaintiff Johnny Vieira and his Johnny on the Spot Productions said in a statement Friday that the two sides had come to an "amicable resolution."

A trial on Vieira's claim that Hudgens owed him at least $5 million in proceeds from the level of stardom he helped her achieve had been scheduled to begin May 11.

Hudgens is "glad to be able to resolve the issues in a mutually agreeable fashion," her attorneys said in a statement.

The breach-of-contract claim was all that was left of a lawsuit that originally alleged defamation on the part of Hudgens and her dad Greg, in addition to other money-related offenses.
