Billy Bob Thornton Offers Weak Excuse for Jerkiness

Remember when Billy Bob Thornton was so rude on the Canadian radio show Q, his band had to flee the country? Now it's explaining time, so the actor showed up on Jimmy Kimmel Live, looking considerably more alert than his Canadian appearance, to offer up some pretty weak excuses for his behavior.

First, he pulled the old "the fact that that was news was astounding to me" trick. Well, yeah, when there's video of actors being unpleasant weirdos, it's going to be entertainment news. That's just the way it goes, duh.

Then he says, "I do that all the time," which would have been sufficient had that meant "I'm an a-hole all the time." But no, it meant that he blames Q host Jian Ghomeshi for being "some guy who lied to me in my face" because he referenced Billy Bob's acting career in the introduction to the Boxmasters

If you can make it through another viewing of the video in question, there was no conniving on the part of the radio host. Jian even says he made no such promise to not to mention Billy Bob's acting, asked legitimate questions about the band and, if anything, was way too nice.

Naturally Jimmy Kimmel agreed and said what the radio host did was rude. And then Billy Bob pretends to be just a nice actor man with fun, jokey stories because he was on real TV.
