CBS has renewed The Amazing Race—which, in addition to other wins, has swept the Best Reality-Competition category since its inception in 2003—for a 15th season, to air in 2009-10.
And while the perennial reality-TV champ hasn't broached the 20 million mark as some of its competitors have, the consistently entertaining show is no slouch. The Amazing Race is averaging 10.9 million viewers per episode this season in its Sunday-night-at-8 slot.
Casting for the round-the-world lollapalooza is currently under way. Longtime host Phil Keoghan—who, true to form, is currently on a 40-day bike ride across America—is expected to show up in various audition cities across the U.S. during his trip, including Chicago (April 24), Pittsburgh (May 1) and New York (May 8).
