Washington is rolling out the carpet once again for Hollywood. And it's not because of that new guy in the White House.

It was announced today that Katie Holmes will be among the stars joining cohosts Gary Sinise and Joe Mantegna for the upcoming National Memorial Day Concert.

Now I just got word about the lineup for the annual Independence Day concert, A Capitol Fourth. Among those scheduled to perform at the 29th annual fireworks festivities are...

Natasha Bedingfield, Barry Manilow and Vanessa Williams, along with several characters from Sesame Street, according to a source. Jimmy Smits is said to be hosting.

For the Memorial Day affair, Mrs. Tom Cruise will read the personal story of a veteran's sister. Holmes' former Broadway costar Dianne Wiest will read the story of the soldier's mother.

Others taking part in the 20th anniversary broadcast of the concert include Laurence Fishburne, Katharine McPhee, country music singer Trace Adkins and Broadway star Brian Stokes Mitchell, among others.

No word if Tom and Suri will be joining Holmes for the Memorial Day event, which will air live May 24 on PBS.
