Foxy Brown Jail-Bound
Some not so sly behavior has landed Foxy Brown in the pen.
Following through on a threat to throw the trouble-prone rapper in the clink if she stepped out of line one more time, a New York judge ordered Brown locked up Wednesday after she violated her probation yet again.
Manhattan Criminal Court Judge Melissa Jackson placed Brown in custody based on her arrest in Brooklyn this month for allegedly whacking a neighbor with her BlackBerry. This follows a string of transgressions, including failure to attend anger-management classes and leaving the jurisdiction without permission by going to Florida, where she wound up arrested for roughing up a beauty supply shop staffer and resisting an officer.
Another twist: Brown is reportedly pregnant with her first child.
There was no immediate comment from Brown's attorney, state Senator John Sampson.
The rapper, whose real name is Inga Marchand, will remain behind bars until her next status hearing Sept. 7.
According to Jack Ryan, a spokesman with the New York City Department of Probation, at that point the judge will have several options at her disposal.
"She could sentence her up to the maximum that she would've gotten if she didn't receive probation or anything less than that," Ryan told E! Online.
The maximum in Brown's case would be a year of incarceration, which would have been her original sentence for attacking two manicurists at a Chelsea beauty salon in 2004.
Instead, the rapper cut a plea deal last October that spared her jail time and left her with three years' probation, anger-management classes and random drug testing.
Jackson could also extend the emcee's probation for an unspecified duration or tack on more requirements, like counseling—though based on Brown's track record, it looks as if she may be fresh out of second chances.
As recently as June, Jackson had praised Brown for seemingly turning things around and staying out of trouble. This after the 28-year-old hip-hopster recorded multiple court absences and a slew of probation infractions.
In January, Brown was bounced from a Big Apple anger-management program for allegedly threatening a staffer.
A month later, Foxy was collared in Florida after spitting and throwing hair glue at an employee of a beauty supply shop. She ended up being charged with battery and obstruction of justice charges and spent the night behind bars.
The Brooklyn-born entertainer pleaded guilty to a violation for traveling outside of New York without the permission of authorities, but Jackson resisted locking up Brown. Rather, the judge ordered Brown to spend more time in anger management and get counseling once a week for the next year, though not before issuing a stern warning threatening to revoke her probation if she screwed up again.
Unfortunately, the Il Na Na purveyor lived down those expectations after the July 30 BlackBerry incident, when she hit a neighbor with the phone after the two got into an argument over Brown blasting her car stereo. Brown faces charges of felony assault, menacing, harassment and criminal possession of a weapon in that case.
And one week ago, Brown was busted in the New Jersey township of Mahwah for giving false information to cops who pulled her over for blowing through a stop sign. She was taken into custody, subsequently issued seven traffic tickets and ordered to report back to municipal court Sept. 4.
Of course, with Brown in jail until her New York matter is cleared up, that court date may be postponed.
