Mickey Rourke is indeed ready to rumble.

The Hollywood tough guy popped in Sunday during the WWE's Wrestlemania 25 in Houston, fulfilling a promise he made a couple of months ago to take pro grappler Chris Jericho to the mat.

And that he did. Only, the Oscar-nominated star of The Wrestler didn't show off any of his movie training, instead resorting to his mad boxing skills.

After dispatching WWE perennials "Rowdy" Roddy Piper, Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka, Ricky Steamboat and Ric Flair in a "Legends" free-for-all at Reliant Stadium, Jericho taunted Rourke, who was seated in the front row.

And Rourke was more than willing to mix things up...

Climbing over the ropes, the 56-year-old actor started dancing around the mat like the professional pugilist he once was, egging Jericho on before landing a left jab in the wrestler's face.

Jericho put up his dukes but was no match, eventually crashing to the mat after a lethal combo, sending the crowd into a loud ovation, per the Houston Post Chronicle.

As for the actual event, John Cena eventually went on to win the 25th anniversary championship after pinning the Big Show.

Rourke originally told E! News back in January that he was planning to participate in Wrestlemania and threatened to knock some sense into Jericho at the invitation of WWE kingpin Vince McMahon.

However, the actor's rep later denied his involvement, noting he was focused on his acting career, and just hours before the main event, Rourke himself talked down any chance of picking a fight, citing insurance requirements for his upcoming role in Iron Man 2 that prevent him from doing so.

"Contractually, because I'm doing this movie called Iron Man 2 now, I can't get in the ring with Chris," he said at a pre-Wrestlemania press conference.

That didn't stop him from trash-talking his rival, though.

"Jericho had made a comment that, that wrestler movie he made, that's not my story," Rourke said. "And he can say all the s--t he wants about my friends Ric Flair, Roddy Piper and Ricky Steamboat—these guys that he's talking about, I've got a lot of respect for and I've got a lot of love for. They're my friends, and I think any one of them on any given night could kick Jericho's ass."

After it was all over, Rourke stood in the ring celebrating his victory with Flair.

We're looking forward to the rematch.
