Liam Neeson knew the show had to go on, so he got it over with.

Less than two weeks after losing wife Natasha Richardson, the Irish actor quietly finished shooting his scenes for the upcoming thriller Chloe in Toronto, where he had been working when he got the news that his wife had suffered a devastating head injury while skiing near Montreal.

Julianne Moore and Amanda Seyfriend costar in the Atom Egoyan-directed film, about a wife who, suspecting her husband is cheating, hires an escort to trap him and sets off an unforeseen chain of undesirable events.

A rep confirmed to E! News that Neeson—whose latest film, Taken, took in nearly $140 million at the box office—returned to the Chloe set last week and had finished filming by Friday. The whole production wrapped the following day.

Richardson was pronounced dead March 18 at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City, two days after falling during a beginner's ski lesson at the Mont Tremblant ski resort, which is about 90 minutes north of Montreal. Her death was determined to be due to an epidural hematoma (pressure on the brain from a buildup of blood in the skull) caused by blunt impact to the head.

A private wake was held March 21 at the American Irish Historical Society in Manhattan, and the British actress was laid to rest at St. Peter's Episcopal Church's cemetery near her family's home in Millbrook, N.Y.

Richardson's mother, Oscar winner Vanessa Redgrave, opted to postpone one of her more pressing engagements, a performance of the one-woman show The Year of Magical Thinking, based on Joan Didion's memoir about her husband's sudden death and the subsequent loss of her daughter.

Redgrave, scheduled to take the stage April 27 at Manhattan's Cathedral Church of St. John the Divine, will instead go on Oct. 26.
