Cops Block Rihanna's Getaway

Don't stop the music—but Rihanna's ride is another matter entirely.

A black SUV shuttling the "Umbrella" singer from a Hollywood hot spot was pulled over last night after Los Angeles police officers noticed its tags were missing.

"It was a rented limo that didn't have a license plate," an LAPD spokesman tells E! News. "Rihanna wasn't even driving—it's not her car. This happens to people all the time."

The 21-year-old R&B star, back in L.A. after spending some time in New York, had just left Les Deux, where she was partying with fellow celebs Katy Perry and Hayden Panettiere. Her getaway drew the attention of nearby cops after her chauffeur sped off in the wrong direction through a red light to evade a horde of paparazzi.

While Rihanna waited patiently in the backseat, the driver, who was not identified, was issued a ticket and allowed to go on his way.
