Long Live Kings? Well…Um…Er…

Weekend TV's Loser: Kings, the David-versus-Goliath update from a former executive producer of Heroes. Sunday's two-hour premiere bombed with only 6 million overall viewers, per preliminary Nielsen estimates, and a showing among 18- to 49-year-olds that was so barely there that the Morley Safer-powered 60 Minutes seemed seriously demographically desirable by comparison.
Weekend TV's Winners: Desperate Housewives (14.4 million) was on the rebound. Ghost Whisperer (11.1 million) was pregnant with viewers. Brothers and Sisters (10.6 million), The Amazing Race (10.4 million) and Family Guy (7.2 million) were all up from last week.
Wrong-Way Donald: A few weeks ago, The Celebrity Apprentice's premiere was unfairly maligned. Seemingly intent on proving its critics right, the show has since slid, falling last night to 6.7 million viewers and a nothing-special demo rating.
Just What the Trainer Ordered: All it took was a little renewal talk, and Friday Night Lights went from 3.7 million viewers the previous week to 4.4 million on Friday, an increase of about 20 percent. Something got into Dollhouse (4.3 million), too, as it likewise went in an unfamiliar direction: up.
