Will Edie Britt Rise From the Dead à la Christ?

ABC doesn’t want to air Nicollette’s death on Easter Sunday

Since when did Desperate Housewives get so PC? We dished a while back 'bout how poor Nicollette Sheridan was most likely going to meet a gruesome demise when she exits D.H. this spring, and it looks like things sure went according to plan. Her death is causing ABC to scramble 'cause it's afraid it will offend a large group of viewers: Catholics. Here's why...

"They were going to kill her off on Easter," blabbed a totally inside D.H. source who knows all, "but opted not to do that and moved the death episode to the week after," death, apparently being too "sacrilegious" and all.

Ummm, really? Unless Edie is offed by crucifixion (not a bad idea, actually), how exactly would it be so offensive? I mean, the bitch just gets electrocuted, I hear. What's the big deal? Hell, Jesus moved that huge-ass rock on Easter, right, so wouldn't that be the best time to send Nic buh-bye in a strangely abnormal way? Especially since Marc Cherry dished recently that N.S. may not be gone for good. She's so going to be ascending from the Wisteria Lane axed, don't you know.
