Real Reality Strikes the Real Housewives of NYC

It's hard to believe a reality show could have more drama in real life, but that certainly appears to be the case for the ladies of Bravo's The Real Housewives of New York City. Newbie Kelly Killoren Bensimon has been accused of misdemeanor assault, while Alex McCord lost her job.
Divorcée Bensimon, 40, was arrested for assault last week when her decade-younger fiancé, Nicholas Stefanov, accused her of punching him. He was allegedly left with a black eye and a cut on his cheekbone.
"The allegations are by a jilted lover saying she struck him during the course of an argument," Bensimon's lawyer Stephen Turano tells the New York Daily News. "We deny the charges, and we hope this will be resolved."
"If I had done it to her, I would have been put in jail immediately," the New York Post reports Stefanov as telling friends. "My injuries are worse than Rihanna's—and Chris Brown was charged with two felonies."
Reportedly, Bensimon, a mother of two from her previous marriage to famed photographer Gilles Bensimon, was kind enough to remove her engagement ring before swinging at her lover. She returned the bauble to Stefanov later that evening.
A show spokeswoman said producers and Bravo "don't comment on the personal lives of our talent."
Then there's Housewives veteran McCord. Two weeks ago, the mother of two was released from her position in visual merchandising for Victoria's Secret.
"Alex is a Real Housewife and a real person who is not immune to the effects of the economy as experienced by hundreds of thousands of Americans," the mother of two's personal publicist tells E! News.
"As such, she will be actively seeking meaningful employment buoyed by her many skills, contacts, experience and ambition. Her family supports her fully in these efforts."
