The shi..., uh, singer has hit the fan. Allegedly.

Less than a week after Amy Winehouse's seemingly triumphant return to England, the reformed and, by all appearances, rehabbed songbird has been charged with common assault over a months-old incident in which she is alleged to have roughed up a female fan.

The pre-Caribbean altercation allegedly went down on Sept. 26, when Winehouse was performing at London's charitable and posh End of Summer Ball.

Accuser Sherene Flash alleges that Winehouse punched her after she approached the singer to take a photograph. Flash was quoted by tabloids shortly after the incident as claiming she had been hit in the eye.

"Amy voluntarily attended a police station in London yesterday morning," the singer's rep said. "She was questioned by appointment in relation to an accusation made after the Berkeley ball last year."

The 25-year-old singer is scheduled to appear at the City of Westminster Magistrates' Court to face the charge on March 17.

In the meantime, Winehouse didn't appear to take the charge too seriously: She was spotted out in London later last night, appearing at a launch party for Ray-Ban sunglasses at Selfridges department store.
