What Lautner and Swift Did for Valentine's Day
Valentine's Day will be that much sweeter with a song from Taylor Swift, don't ya think?
The singer, who plays opposite Taylor Lautner in the upcoming ensemble romantic comedy from director Garry Marshall, will likely be writing and performing a tune for the flick.
"We hope she does," Marshall told me yesterday at Variety's inaugural Power of Women luncheon in Beverly Hills. "But when people write songs, they always want to see the movie.
"[Taylor] wants to see the part that she's in," he added. "I just finished, so I need to edit for a second."
Marshall had hoped that Lautner and Swift would have bigger roles in the movie. Sadly, their busy schedules didn't allow for it.
"She writes songs and sings and he does the vampire thing," Marshall said. "But I discovered Taylor Lautner ran track back in Minnesota. That's why I have him jumping hurdles in the movie. She likes to dance and he likes to jump a hurdle, so we made up the scene for them."
Valentine's Day also reunites Marshall with Julia Roberts. He was quick to shoot down the never-ending rumor that there will be a sequel to their hit Pretty Woman.
However, Marshall did reveal that he's considering another Pretty Woman project. Read on for the scoop...
Rate-a-Trailer: Will You Heart Valentine's Day?
While watching this first look at the upcoming romantic comedy Valentine's Day, we were trying to figure out who isn't in it.
After all, the ensemble cast is quite the laundry list, including the likes of Jennifer Garner, Bradley Cooper, Anne Hathaway, Julia Roberts, Patrick Dempsey, both Jessica Biel and Alba, as well as Ashton Kutcher, who obviously managed to stop twittering long enough to take part.
And while the trailer itself doesn't really reveal much in the way of storyline (it is just a teaser, after all), what little it does show seems mildly amusing and pretty harmless.
The movie hits theaters in February 2010. Just in time for, well, you know.

Joe Jonas: Valentine's Day Just Got a Little Sweeter
Joe Jonas is moving up the movie-star ladder.
I just got word that Joe is close to joining Hollywood hotshots like Julia Roberts, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Biel, Jessica Alba, Patrick Dempsey, Jamie Foxx and Queen Latifah in director Garry Marshall's romantic comedy Valentine's Day.
Yup, the same movie that also has appearances by Joe's ex-girlfriend Taylor Swift, Twilight star Taylor Lautner and Emma Roberts.
No word on Joe's role, but...
Caught! Anne Hathaway's BF Attacks Snappy Fan!
Anne Hathaway and her BF, Adam Shulman, in Greenwhich Village in New York, shopping at D'Agostino. Anne went anti-incognito and didn't don a hat or sunglasses to conceal her identity.
Sans makeup, Hath-hon still looked totally fab in a pair of boyfriend jeans, which looked better on her than her bitchy BF. A Hathaway-lovin' shopper snuck a photo of the upcoming White Queen in Alice in Wonderland, only to get screamed at by Shulman!
Who does he think he is, Lindsay effin' Lohan? A.H. kept quiet the whole time while Ad bitched out his GF's (perhaps now former) fan. Wow, Anne sure knows how to pick the douche guys, eh? At least he's slightly less greasy than the last amour.
Another famous girl who seemed happy to be free from her last morally suspect fella was...
This Is Why We Love Anne Hathaway
It's hard not to love Anne Hathaway…especially when she buys you pizza.
On Sunday, the Oscar nominee finished off her NYC stage debut in Twelfth Night at Central Park's Delacorte Theatre, produced by the New York Shakespeare Festival and the Public Theater.
Believe it or not, the performances were completely free on a first-come, first-served basis—which, in the city that never sleeps, means just that: People get in line for tickets late in the evening and wait literally all night.
So, at 3 a.m. Sunday morning, the sweetie-pie starlet brought the night owls a snack! Anne handed slices of pizza to the entire line.
If that's not awesome, we don't know what is.
Apparently, the late hour didn't affect her performance. Alec Baldwin caught the show and blogged that Hathaway "seems to do nearly everything right, whether it be on screen and now on the stage."
We couldn't agree more.

Seth Rogen and James Franco have taken the pineapple express to Oscar credibility.
As if expanding the Best Picture nominee pool and potentially nixing the Best Song category wasn't enough to modernize the usually staid Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences, surely its welcoming of cinema's preeminent bong jokesters is.
Rogen and Franco are two of 134 new artists and movie industry executives who have been extended invitations to join the Academy and, in doing so, secure voting rights for all future Oscar ceremonies beginning in 2010.
The smokin' Pineapple Express duo are joined by fellow Judd Apatow repertory players Michael Cera, Paul Rudd and Jane Lynch, along with Casey Affleck, Viola Davis, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, Taraji P. Henson, James McAvoy, Tyler Perry, Danny Boyle, Emile Hirsch, Michelle Williams, Amy Ryan, Slumdog soundtracker A.R. Rahman, Peter Gabriel, Tom Cruise's producing partner-in-crime, Paula Wagner, Milk man Dustin Lance Black and Mr. Oscar himself, Hugh Jackman.
Rise 'n' Shine: America's Ode to the Hoff
• Britain's Got Talent introduces you to Susan Boyle. America's Got Talent brings you this (and sends it to the next round). No wonder it's not the same worldwide phenomenon.
• We want to be besties with Anne Hathaway more than ever before. Apparently, she likes to play stylist and lends out her clothes.
• Michelle Pfeiffer may not want you to call her a cougar, but she'd be happy to be Catwoman one more time.
• Ted Danson doesn't eat fish, and it has nothing to do with lessons learned from that whole Jeremy Piven debacle.
• Dear Paris Hilton: We knew you'd find the perfect BFF in Dubai, a "huge" one that wears lots of accessories, has humps to match yours and spits when you deem things "not hot." Congrats. Love, Rise 'n' Shine
Sorry, Jennifer Aniston, we don't know where you put your keys. They're not in the Big Picture gallery.

Johnny Depp as Alice in Wonderland's Mad Hatter
The Tim Burton-ized version of Alice in Wonderland will hit theaters March 5, 2010, which seems so far away. But it's just close enough to show off how awesomely trippy Burton's re-imagining of the Lewis Carroll classic will be.
Johnny Depp reunites with his bestie director friend for the seventh time, to play the Mad Hatter. Judging by the picture, he is part Elijah Wood, part Carrot Top and all the way creepy.
And Depp isn't the only one getting a crazy Burton makeover...
Anne Hathaway and Jake Gyllenhaal to Do Drugs?
First comes marriage, then comes Viagra.
After playing an unhappily married couple in Brokeback Mountain, Anne Hathaway and Jake Gyllenhaal are in talks to reteam for Love and Other Drugs. The flick is director Ed Zwick's adaptation of Jamie Reidy's delightfully titled nonfiction book Hard Sell: Confessions of a Viagra Salesman, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
Gyllenhaal would play a role based on Reidy, a Pfizer drug rep who romances a Parkinson's patient played by Hathaway.
Sex, drugs and beautiful stars? Sounds great. But if the film lasts more than four hours, somebody better call a doctor.
And who is Julia Roberts about to devour?

If you thought all the stars singing and dancing at the Oscars was impressive, wait until you see the star power in tonight's Tony opener.
Pretty much all we can tell you is that Anne Hathaway, who opened the movie awards show with Hugh Jackman in February, will be sitting up close and personal at Radio City Music Hall as she's shown how it's done.
We know. We saw the dress rehearsal.
Here's what else we know...

Star-studded doesn't even begin to cover it.
New Line has recruited a veritable who's who of Hollywood to star in the Garry Marshall-directed rom-com Valentine's Day.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Marshall will reteam with his erstwhile Pretty Woman, Julia Roberts, along with an ensemble that includes Anne Hathaway, Jessica Alba, Jessica Biel, Jennifer Garner, Bradley Cooper, Ashton Kutcher and Shirley MacLaine.
The film will follow five overlapping stories and all take place on Hallmark's Cupid's holiday in Los Angeles.
Some of the storylines already penciled in for the big-screen bonanza: Roberts plays an Army officer on leave from Iraq who strikes up a conversation with Cooper, whose boyfriend is a closeted football player; Kutcher owns a flower shop and plans on proposing to girlfriend Alba, only to discover he's in love with best pal Garner; Hathaway is an agent's assistant who's dating the mail boy; and Biel tries her hand as an unlucky-in-love publicist.
As if that weren't enough star power for you, Ryan Gosling, Michelle Williams, Rachel Weisz, Dermot Mulroney, Simon Baker, Joss Stone, Kevin Costner, Nathan Lane, Bebe Neuwirth and Michael Madsen round out the day's castings...

Justin, Madonna, Blake and Rihanna! Dozens of A-Listers Get Prettied Up for Met Gala
This year, the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute Gala Benefit boasted so much star power that it's a wonder no one was handing out awards.
But best-dressed trophies could have gone to many of the luminaries who turned out for the annual event, including chairpersons Justin Timberlake (with his lovely lady, Jessica Biel, dressed in Atelier Versace), Kate Moss, Marc Jacobs and Vogue's infamous editor, Anna Wintour. And the hosts were just the tip of the supersparkly-star iceberg...
