Many films have attempted to effectively depict race relations in America. Fruitvale Station, The Help, and Guess Who's Coming to Dinner are just a few examples...that don't get the job done as effectively as the 1972 "classic" The Thing with Two Heads starring NFL great Rosie "It's Alright to Cry" Grier and a man who seems born to play the old white guy in this movie, Ray Milland.
As you can tell from the poster, the premise is simple. In order to save himself, a racist white guy has his head surgically attached to a black guy who's in prison for a crime he didn't commit. See, I told you it was simple. What ensues is a high octane ride into racial understanding as the two men explore the dynamic between blacks and whites and tell each other to shut up for 93 minutes.
A thoughtful look at race AND a dirt bike chase? Thank you The Thing with Two Heads.
