When 15 year old Jacob Williamson stepped on to the Scripps National Spelling Bee stage Thursday night, the audience saw what they thought was a push over. An awkward kid who probably gets bullied at school or, you know, at home school which is always a safe bet with these spelling bee kids.
What neither they nor people watching at home realized was that we weren't looking at a normal, dorky, spelling bee kid. We were looking at an ace. A gunslinger that fires letters with pinpoint precision and has the confidence and swagger to match. Also, we were looking at a kid who was about to incorrectly spell "kabaragoya" and exit the competition in spectacular fashion.
