Hey did you hear? The Pumpkin Spice something or other is back at some coffee place. Of course, I don't have to tell you that because it's all anyone is talking about and it's being advertised everywhere. Hell, you probably had to sit through an ad for it just to look at this amazing post. Basically, Starbuck's Pumpkin Spice Latte is so pervasive on the internet right now I think we're all starting to smell like cinnamon, ginger, and nutmeg whether we've sipped that SamHain brew or not.
Of course, Twitter has been a buzz with reaction to the return of the PSL for weeks and as you'd expect, many of the reactions were, for lack of a better word, Twittery.
For some people it was an excuse to espouse the virtues of fall.
For others, it was simply a chance to see how many m's they could tack on to the end of "yummmmmmmm"
Even 9/11 wasn't safe from the PSL discussion.
Wait...All those posts are the same. That's the same joke over and over again. Holy s--t! Did that many people steal the same Twitter joke and post it as their own? Are you s--tting me?
Nope, I'm not s--tting you and yep, they sure did.
When we thought up this post all we wanted to find were people going over the top while talking about Pumpkin Spice Lattes. We had no idea that what we'd actually discover was a thread of people so hard up for Twitter attention that they lift someone else's joke without a RT or the slightest acknowledgement.
I was going to enjoy this Pumpkin Spice Latte but instead I think I'll just dump it out for whoever first wrote this clever and much stolen tweet. (Full disclosure, I probably would have dumped it out anyway. I'm not really a PSL fan. Call me when the Peppermint Mochas arrive for Christmas).
Sometimes the Twitterverse can be an awful, awful place.
