Just because you weren't born and raised in a palace doesn't mean that you aren't royalty.

On The Royals, the upcoming series centered around the lives of a fictional modern-day British monarchy, Queen Helena (played by Elizabeth Hurley) places a great amount of emphasis on royal lineage and gets a bit frazzled to say the least when her son Prince Liam (William Moseley) gets involved with a commoner (Merritt Patterson).

In Hollywood, celebs are considered royalty to a degree. But did you know that there are certain celebs who are actually related to royalty?

For instance, Ellen DeGeneres is related to Kate Middleton, while Hollywood power couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have royalty in their blood.

Check out these celebs that are related to royals. We bet some of them will surprise you...

Ellen DeGeneres & Kate Middleton

One is an American comedienne and the other is the Duchess of Cambridge, but according to the New England Genealogical Society, Ellen DeGeneres and Kate Middleton are 15th cousins.

The two are related through a man by the name of Sir Thomas Fairfax and his wife, Agnes Gascoigne, who lived in the United Kingdom in the early 1500s.

Does this mean we'll be seeing Ellen at Buckingham Palace anytime soon?

Johnny Depp & Queen Elizabeth II

Apparently Johnny Depp is 20th cousins with Queen Elizabeth II, after going back 600 years to a connection of a shared great, great, great (you get the idea) grandfather.

We do think that Mr. Depp would make a handsome royal...

Paris Hilton & Henry II of England

Not only is Paris Hilton an heiress and a socialite but she's also royalty. Her connection to Henry II of England is said to be through her father, Rick Hilton.

Hilary Duff & Edward III of England

Bet you didn't know that the former Lizzie McGuire star is actually related to royalty. She is the 18th cousin to Queen Elizabeth and is also Edward III's 10th great-granddaughter.

Find out about her connection to Jake and Maggie Gyllenhaal below...

The Gyllenhaal siblings are also descendants of Edward III, the King of England from 1327 through 1377, through their father's side of the family.

Due to Hilary Duff's connection to King Edward III, that must make them distant cousins in some form, right?

Uma Thurman & Edward I of England

Uma Thurman is the 21st cousin to Edward I of England, who ruled from 1272 to 1307.

His nickname was "Edward Longshanks" and he was depicted in the movie Braveheart starring Mel Gibson.

Angelina Jolie & Marie, Duchess of Brabant

Not only is she Hollywood royalty (the daughter of actor Jon Voight) but she's also real royalty.

She is a distant descendant (through her mother's side) of Marie of France, Duchess of Brabant, who was the daughter of King Philip II of France (ruled 1180-1223).

Tom Hanks & King John of England

Through his father's side, Tom Hanks is a descendant of King John of England (ruled from 1199-1216).

We think Tom would make a great king with his wife Queen Rita Wilson by his side...

Brad Pitt & King Henry II of England

Funny how Brad Pitt and his wife Angelina are both related to royalty. But we're not that surprised...

Brad is the 25th cousin to King Henry II, who ruled England from 1154 to 1189.
