The Royals, which is the new series centered around a fictional modern-day British monarchy and stars Elizabeth Hurley as Queen Helena, definitely features its fair share of decadent parties. And if there's one person who loves to party, it's Princess Eleanor (Alexandra Park), the wild twin to Prince Liam (William Moseley).

And why shouldn't she? She is royalty after all. If you're going to party, you'd better do it right.

These real-life royals have thrown some of the most elaborate and expensive parties known to mankind. From a $70 million wedding to commissioning Michael Jackson for a private birthday performance, no expenses were spared.

Check out the craziest royal parties that have ever taken place. Don't you wish that you were friends with a prince?

Prince William & Kate Middleton's $70 million wedding

When Prince William married Kate Middleton, it was a grand affair to say the least.

Following in the footsteps of his parents, the Duke of Cambridge had a much anticipated and publicized wedding that was watched around the globe.

Guests were also treated to rooms at the luxurious Goring Hotel (where the standard room costs $550 a night).

In addition to horse-drawn carriages, the ceremony was attended by 1,900 people followed by a luncheon for 600 that was hosted by the Queen.

To top it off, Prince Charles hosted a 300-person dinner in the evening, and the newlyweds celebrated with two weddings cakes that totaled $80,000.

We can only imagine what an $80k cake tastes like. Diamonds and sugar?

There were also $800,000 worth of flowers, and Kate had three wardrobe changes, including her stunning Sarah Burton wedding gown that cost $400,000.

But it makes sense, because if you're going to have the wedding of the century, you're going to need the perfect dress for it as well.

Prince Azim's 27th Birthday Party

If there's one royal that loves to go all out for parties, it's definitely Prinze Azim, the son of the Sultan of Brunei.

His 27th birthday was referred to as England's "party of the year" and featured an impressive list of guests, among them Sophia Loren, Mariah Carey and Faye Dunaway.

Singer Chaka Khan provided the entertainment for the party, which was held in a Stapleford Park country house hotel.

The prince was rumored to have spent $100,000 on white roses alone. In the past, he's been known to throw decadent parties, and loves gifting his favorite celebs like Usher with extravagant gifts that have supposedly included diamond-encrusted tennis shoes.

Talk about a dream gift bag...

Queen Elizabeth's Diamond Jubilee Party

Sure, you've partied all night long, but have you partied all year long?

That's exactly what Queen Elizabeth did in 2012 when she hosted her Diamond Jubilee to celebrate 60 years on the throne. To kickstart the festivities, the Queen held a weekend-long celebration that  included a derby, a concert at Buckingham Palace, a fancy luncheon and a procession of 1,000 boats on the River Thames.

To continue the Jubilee, the Queen went on a series of regional tours throughout England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. Then she sent other members of the Royal Family all over the world to visit Commonwealth countries, from Jamaica to Papua New Guinea.

So it's basically a year-long vacation party. Those must be some impressive frequent flyer miles...

The Sultan of Brunei's 50th Birthday Party

Seeing that he's the father of Prince Azim, the apple clearly doesn't fall far from the tree.

When the Sultan of Brunei turned 50, he threw himself a two week-long birthday celebration that reportedly cost around $25 million.

Festivities included a polo match with Prince Charles, a 3,000-person dinner party and the grand finale: a performance by the Prince of Pop himself.

That's right, Michael Jackson was paid $16 million by the Sultan to come and perform at his palace. That's some nice dinero...

Prince Charles & Lady Diana's $48 million wedding

The Prince of Wales definitely set the bar high for his sons' future weddings when he married Lady Diana.

Their wedding at St. Paul's Cathedral was televised for a global audience of 750 million people while their guest list was filled with royals and celebs.

Diana's impressive dress included a 25-foot train made of antique lace, but even more impressive than that were the 27 wedding cakes that were made, along with a five-foot-tall main cake.

Supposedly the cake preparations took 14 weeks to make, and a duplicate cake was prepared as well in the case of any accidents.

Let them eat cake, we say. Marie Antoinette certainly would have been proud.
