Watch: Mariah Carey Clears Up a Birthday Rumor

Mariah Carey is on rumor patrol!

The other week, reports surfaced claiming the singer crashed Goldie Hawn's 71st birthday party at Catch restaurant in L.A. and did an impromptu "Happy Birthday'' duet with Future. As magical as that does sound, the Mariah's World star says that isn't exactly how things went down.

"Me and Future did a duet? What are they talking about?!" Carey laughed when we caught up with her the other day. "I went back there. Future was there, it was his birthday. But this was two different parties and then I went over there to where they were. I'm a huge fan of Goldie Hawn, I love her, and I just said happy birthday. And I love Kate [Hudson] too, as a fan.

Despite those duet reports, Carey says she didn't serenade the legendary movie star.

"No, I didn't sing," the E! star clarified. "By the way I had a cold. So that rumor is [false]."

Carey added of Hawn, "She is gorgeous."

During the bash, Hudson took to Instagram to share multiple smiley photos of the family celebrating at the Hollywood hot spot. Hawn thanked her daughter by replying, "My beloved family."

Too cute.
