The House of DVF star admits that she never gotten any plastic surgery in her life, but she points out that going natural has its own set of challenges—especially when she sees herself on the big screen.
"I hope I learn a little bit about myself everyday," she says. "The hardest part of the whole thing is the way I look because with no plastic surgery at my age, it's not the easiest thing."
Despite the fact that Diane's new show House of DVF (which will document her search for her first-ever Global Brand Ambassador) premieres in just a few days, the designer confesses that while she doesn't watch any reality shows, she has an incredible amount of respect for them. She also looks forward to showcasing the journey of the eight young women who are competing for the Brand Ambassor position on her show.
"They were very unsophisticated but I love that 'cause this is the favorite part of what I do," Diane says. "Not just for the TV show, 'cause I love to see young girls at the beginning of their lives. I just love that 'cause it's so interesting. Which is going to be the door they go through? It's what I wrote in my book. That's what I try to do, is to have goals and that's what the show is about."
Diane is also a huge supporter of female empowerment and aims to do so with her fashions, her actions, and now her show as well.
"To empower women is the most important thing," she explains. "I can't tell you the details that all these girls passed through this period, their lives have been changed forever."
Diane has also embraced a new role on the show—playing herself!
"It was so much fun," she says. "Because to do interviews and talk about yourself is boring, but to play your own self is just wonderful!"
When asked for her opinion on the main essentials a woman should have in her closet at all times, Diane's response was simple and to the point.
"A wrap dress, a pair of jeans, comfortable shoes and sexy shoes," she says. "I always say to all my design team that DVF is the friend in the closet. You wake up in the morning and your eyes are swollen and you have your period and you don't know what to do, and that's when you reach for DVF!"
