Diane von Furstenberg is the perfect example of a woman who has it all. She's famous, fashionable and fabulous, and we're just getting started...

In addition to being one of the world's most influential fashion designers, style icons and humanitarians, here are the 12 reasons why we should all strive to be like the House of DVF star!

12. She's a trendsetter.

Diane created the wrap dress for the working woman in 1972, which revolutionized American women's apparel. By 1976, she has sold 5 million of her wrap dresses, landing her on the covers of Newsweek and The Wall Street Journal.

"I had a very down-to-earth product, my wrap dress," Diane said in an interview. "It was just a simple little cotton-jersey dress that everybody loved and everybody wore. I would see 20, 30 dresses walking down one block. All sorts of different women. It felt very good. Young and old, and fat and thin, and poor and rich."

"The minute I knew I was about to be Egon's wife, I decided to have a career," Diane told New York Times. "I wanted to be someone of my own, and not just a plain little girl who got married beyond her desserts."
