Hello Ross is a show for fans and about fans of pop culture. Now, the host of the fan-driven show, Ross Mathews, is counting on fans to vote for him in his very own People's Choice Awards nomination!
"I just started screaming. I was screaming higher pitch than normal. I was just so excited," Ross revealed to E! News. "I have loved award shows since I was a little kid. I knew that the nominations were coming out today because I'm an awards-show freak. I had no idea that I'd be on the list though. When I saw it, I was like, 'Say wha?!'"
The Best New Talk Show Host nominee wasn't joking about his reaction and immediately took to Twitter to share his excitement:
The Hello Ross staff all found out around the same time and reacted in the most appropriate way possible: "We put on the 'Celebrate Good Times' song and we all danced around."
"And I told them, don't be weird just because I'm like a big deal now, a People's Choice nominee," Ross said jokingly. "Totally just treat me normal. I'm just like you, one leg at a time."
The first-time talk-show host will be up against Arsenio Hall, Bethenny Frankel, Jenny McCarthy and Queen Latifah during the awards show in January on CBS.
But the Tonight Show alum doesn't have time to sit back, relax and renjoy his nomination, he's got a show to tape and is getting ready for his big Tori Spelling interview.
"She has this book coming out right now that is chock-full of crazy admissions," he said. "We're going to get to the bottom of some of those and we're going to play a game with her."
Sounds like a great time. We wish Ross the best of luck with his nomination! You can vote for the 2014 People's Choice Awards online.
Tune-in to Hello Ross tonight at 10/9c with special guest, Tori Spelling!
