Apparently Laura Carmichael is still learning the rules of the American fashion road. #101 is definitely never dress like Lindsay Lohan, unless you're looking for extra attention.

When the Mean Girls star showed up for her Late Show with David Letterman appearance in the Ashish version of this tickle-the-ivories-attire, we called her the love child of Liza Minnelli and Liberace. Lady Edith's version is far less Broadway-bound, but it's still a LBD covered in piano keys.

We're not sure we can ever get behind this keytar couture, but if we had to choose between glitz and glam versus the understated, our preference might shockingly be Lilo's blinged-out option. If you're going to wear a piano key LBD, you may as well go all the way. The British beauty's version feels almost too sensible for this style, where as the Inconceivable actress is in a full-on costume.

Looks like the Londoner is learning yet another fashion rule: sometimes it's best to go big or go home. Figures Lindsay Lohan would teach her that one...

What's your say on the style war?
