Shailene Woodley, Divergent

Apparently Shailene Woodley has been holding out on us. Or maybe the star of this spring's biggest blockbuster was just waiting for her L.A. premiere to really bring her A-game?

Either way, we feel like proud parents at our little girl's first big school play. We knew she could do it! She just needed a little time, a little space and one absolutely incredible Elie Saab couture dress.

And yet, what we love most about this flowing, beaded creation of the fashion gods is that the Divergent star looks just as calm, cool and collected in it as she does in jeans and a t-shirt. Her glowing skin and chic hair stand alone without overdone makeup. Her accessories are minimal to non-existent. She is not out to transform her entire person. She's just rockin' a killer gown with all the confidence in the world.

But let's not diminish the style star of this show. Between the perfectly draped body-hugging shape and embellished rose and gold fabric, it is absolutely stunning. We're big fans of the asymmetrical neckline, but it's the left leg slit that really brings the entire thing together.

We're grateful that Shailene finally brought some drama to the carpet, but we're equally pleased to hear she brought it back down to earth with overalls and a black cropped top at the after party. Take that, Hollywood.
