Ellen DeGeneres may have been making a joke last night in her opening monologue when she talked about the suffering that Los Angeles endured from the weekend of rain, but anyone who has been stuck in LA during the rain knows that the city doesn't cope well with precipitation—especially when said precipitation rears its ugly head on Oscars Sunday.

We saw a lot more updos, hair helmets and texture (read: frizz) than we would have had the weather cooperated. There may have been a lot of black eyes and bruises on the styling assistants who probably battled to the death for the last bottle of good anti-humidity hairspray.

But some starlets overcame the disagreeable weather, like Angelina Jolie, whose blowout was impeccable, along with Sandra Bullock and Kate Hudson, who rocked shiny, cascading, Old Hollywood glam waves.

And forget the hair…Meow! Cat eyes were everywhere last night! Whether stars wore the extreme retro winged-lined eye like Olivia Wilde and Penelope Cruz or the subtler kitten eye like Lupita Nyong'o and Charlize Theron, feline-inspired eyes reigned supreme last night.

Of course we were quite disappointed to see that the nude lip trend plagued the stars' pouts last night. We thought we were past that boring, cadaverous trend seen on the likes of Charlize Theron and Julia Roberts, but we were obviously wrong.

So who passed the Beauty Police test and who failed it? See all of last night's beauty looks by clicking the photos below!
