Sure, Beyoncé released a surprise self-titled visual album this past week, which debuted at No. 1 on iTunes, but come on, the beautiful yet edgy eye makeup she rocked at her album release party was the real showstopper. (At least for us)

Leave it to Queen B to combine silver and plum eye shadows to create a modern smoky eye to perfectly complement her mosaic black Tom Ford dress.  The stunning songstress also knows how to ensure her flawless skin glows by not bowing to the over-contouring trend.

Of course B didn't ruin this look by overdoing it with a bright lip… She knows that a dramatic eye goes best with a clean nude pucker.

Get the Look: Start by applying a primer like Prescriptives Flawless Face Primer to act as a barrier between your skin and your makeup. Primer will not only fill in pores and fine lines, but it will ensure your makeup lasts by preventing your makeup from absorbing into your skin.

After primer, apply a buildable, medium coverage, radiant foundation like BECCA Radiant Skin Satin Finish Foundation with your fingers for light coverage, or with a brush or sponge for heavier coverage. Cover darkness under the eyes or any imperfections with concealer.

To get the songstress's naturally flushed-looking cheeks, apply an apricot powder blush like Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush in the apples of your cheeks and brush upwards along your cheekbones for extra lift.

To copy Beyoncé's eye makeup, start by prepping your upper eye area with a primer or concealer. Then, cover entire upper eye area with a matte eye shadow that matches your skin tone.

Next, apply a plum eye shadow like Face Stockholm Matte Eye Shadow in Plum in the outer corner of your eyes in a V-shape with a medium domed eye brush.  Blend the eye shadow upwards and inwards so that it covers the outer half of the crease.

Then, apply a silver eye shadow like Diorshow Fusion Mono Long-Wear Professional Mirror-Shine Eyeshadow  in 021 Etoile from the inner corners of your eyes to the mid-point of your eyes, meeting the plum eye shadow. Blend the eye shadows with small circles to soften the lines.

Give eyes definition by lining both the upper and lower lash lines with a dark grey eyeliner like NARS Larger Than Life Long-Wear Eyeliner in Madison Avenue. Finish eye makeup by applying 2-3 coats of your favorite volume-building mascara.

Complete this look by applying a creamy nude lipstick like Clinique Different Lipstick in Tenderheart. Tip: Line and fill in entire lip with a nude pencil to ensure lipstick doesn't budge.

Queen B's message behind her new album may be "finding the beauty in imperfection" but one look at this photo and we're finding the beauty in her perfection.  All hail the queen.
