Jason Merritt/Getty Images for amfARWe're not sure we've ever seen such a formal belly shirt. Vanessa Hudgens's midriff-baring top almost makes us want to re-name the look from the casual-sounding "crop top" to something more formal, maybe "3/4 blouse?"
It's amazing how a dark color, fancy fabric and covered-up cut can take a sexy look straight into sophisticated territory. We'd go so far as to say the Machete Kills actress could wear this getup to a black tie wedding...in Los Angeles or on an island somewhere, but still.
What's impressive is that this Hugo Boss design manages to be both elegant and edgy. The collared top is like a black tux jacket gone wild, but the ballgown skirt softens it while still maintaining that chic, all-black effect. Our favorite element may be the floral appliques all along the bottom fabric. They're not visible enough to make the ensemble look too flirty, but they add a little drama just like the Spring Breakers star's sleek hair and red lip.
We're going to go ahead and say this is our favorite look on Vanessa in a very long time. What do you think?
