Is Sandra Bullock kidding us with that perfectly straight and smooth hair in the summer heat? For those of us who stored our flat irons away for the summer, we are having major hair envy right now (and of course we're scrambling to find our flat irons).
Lovely locks aside… this 48-year-old beauty knows how to wear just the right amount of makeup to accentuate her strongest features without going overboard with the products.
Her makeup look is also one of those magical formulas that happen to look good on women of all ages. The versatile eye makeup will also flatter both blue and green eyes—and let's face it—rosy cheeks and nude lips work on everyone!
Get the Look: Okay, we're not promising miracles here. We can get you close to Sandra's perfect coif but we can't guarantee your stick straight strands will withhold intense humidity. Our advice? Try this look in your climate before a big event so you know what to expect and so that you can tinker with the formula.
Start by applying a straightening cream or balm like Phytodéfrisant Botanical Straightening Balm to towel-dried hair. Then blow dry hair in sections with a large barrel round brush with natural bristles, pulling hair away from your head.
Once your hair is dry, divide it into sections and clip up. Starting with the bottom sections, grab 2" sections and spray with a heat protecting spray like Garnier Fructis Style Sleek & Shine Flat Iron Perfector Straightening Mist from roots to ends, giving the ends an extra spray for protection.
Take each 2" section and quickly run your flat iron down the hair, followed by a comb to ensure smoothness. Don't panic if you see smoke! It's the product burning off, not your precious tresses! Finish this look by spraying your hair with a shine spray or anti-humidity hairspray.
Once your tresses are silky straight, it's time for some makeup! Start by applying your usual primer, foundation, and concealer. Make sure you prep the upper eye area with either primer or concealer to ensure your eye makeup doesn't fade with the sun.
Next, brush on a shimmery pink champagne eye shadow like Urban Decay Eyeshadow in Midnight Cowboy to just the eyelids. Then, use a flat eyeliner brush with the pink champagne shadow to line the inner half of your lower lash line—this will make your eyes appear larger.
After that, take a chocolate brown gel eyeliner and apply a thin line along your upper lash line with a liner brush, starting at your inner eye, making the line much thicker once you reach the halfway point of your eye. Use the liner brush to line the outer half of your lower lash line with the gel eyeliner.
Then, smudge the eye shadow and gel liner together on the lower lash line to get that subtle sparkle. Finish by applying 2-3 coats of your favorite mascara.
To get Sandra's flushed rosy cheeks, apply a raspberry cream blush like MAKE UP FOR EVER HD Microfinish Blush in 2 Caught in the Act in the apples of your cheeks, either with your fingertips or a blush brush.
Finish off this flattering look by applying a creamy nude glossy lipstick like SEPHORA COLLECTION Rouge Shine Lipstick in Honeymoon.
Sandra has wowed us the entire press tour for "The Heat." We know her bubbly personality is what makes her America's Sweetheart, but to us she's also quite the American Beauty.
