Mad Men Fire and Ice Fashion Face-Off: Christina Hendricks vs. January Jones

The AMC actresses both gave us a lot of fodder yesterday, as Hendricks attended a jewelry bash in Hollywood while Jones went to Chanel's anniversary party in NYC.

It may be October, but these two photos are like Christmas for us. No, Chanukah—because we have no doubt that we will be calling up these photos and cackling for the next eight days at least.

Before we go off on these dueling outfits, a disclaimer: We do not have a problem with Christina Hendricks' body. She looks amazing. What we have a problem with is her stylist. Or tailor. Or whoever was in charge of taking a foot-long needle and sewing this leather prison into a semblance of a dress. It's too tight at the bosom, and the pleats around the hips are a disaster, and it is not Christina's fault. There are tailors for that.

That said, gotta love the actress's clutch bag with the anti-theft handle. Although we hadn't heard that Lindsay Lohan had been threatening to show up.

Moving on from flaming hair to the ice queen: January Jones showed up at a New York Chanel 80th anniversary event in kabuki makeup, and not, we suspect, on purpose. In fact it looks like she realized that horror just seconds before the photographer took this shot. As for the dress, we ain't mad at it, at least, not as mad as January seems to be.

Maybe LiLo stole her clutch? Hey January, little tip: Anti-theft handles.
