When we saw Nashville star Connie Britton walk the 2012 Emmys red carpet we couldn't help but wonder, "Why is this look even happening?"

We thought nothing could be scarier than Connie Britton and her demon-spawn on American Horror Story, until we saw this Emmy red carpet pic.

Thanks to a #FanFind tweet from @holidickeys, we now sleep with the lights on and wake up in a cold sweat screaming, "Not the gunmetal, Connie! Put it away!"

Behold, the Nashville star in an Andrew GN gown, Neil Lane jewels and Guiseppe Zanotti heels.

Just don't stare directly into Connie's halter-enhanced cleavage for too long, or say her name three times into the bathroom mirror, otherwise the ghost of this gown will come to haunt you.
