When we first noticed this Stella McCartney dress on yet another celeb this season, our reaction was the obvious one: It could be worse—at least they're not all obsessing over Marchesa.
After all, we could be trolling around Los Angeles with a winch and a backhoe, rescuing half of Hollywood from 8-foot-thick cocoons of tulle that should never have been used in the first place. (Note to Hayden Panettiere: Of course we're not talking about your Marchesa dress. That's a lie. Yes we are.)
The good thing about McCartneys, in contrast, is that they tend to be sleek and simple. So, if celebs want to all run to the McCartney boutique and snatch up the same bodycon dress, let ‘em. No one gets hurt.
So go ahead, Edie Falco, you wear that illusion dress to the Emmys. Just like Gwyneth Paltrow, who wore it to the Grammys earlier this year, and Brooklyn Decker, who wore the gown in navy and white to the Japanese premiere of Battleship.
