It's all fun and games until you mess with someone's red carpet pose! Modern Family's Sarah Hyland took time during her red carpet interview with our own Giuliana Rancic to defend her recent Lea Michele impersonation, which she made while making a guest appearance on E!'s Fashion Police .

"You did a very cute and adorable impersonation," Rancic told the young star. "But apparently some of the Gleeks were very upset and there was a little controversy."

But Sarah cleared things up:

"They are very protective over her," Sarah said, "and I didn't mean it in any harm at all. When Joan Rivers asks, 'What does she look like on the Red Carpet?' you do it! She's hilarious, and it was just in jest and that was it. I hate that it's gotten to such a level. She knows how to work it, and I can't do what she does!"

Giuliana was quick to reassure the young actress:

"At the end of the day, we are talking about fashion and posing, and it's not like you said something hurtful about her character."

And after all, isn't imitation the highest form of flattery?

Now go on and start practicing your best red carpet poses, because you never know when you'll be asked to do your best celeb impression.
