I know the Academy Awards are all about the art, and love, of movie making. But I have to say, my favorite part is the DRESSES!!!!!

I love this time of year. I'm always caught up in the thrill of award season: The golden statues, the glamorous stars and the fabulous gowns.
But let's start this week focusing on the movies....
This week I was able to check something off my bucket list: rapping with Vanilla Ice. Yes, you read that right.
I love cars. I have loved them since I was a little girl; the faster, the better. And last night I had a love affair with a really hot one.
11.11.11 is a day I will never forget. In honor of Veteran's Day, ESPN held the "Carrier Classic" in San Diego. It was a college basketball match up played on the USS Carl Vinson Aircraft Carrier (the same ship that Osama bin Laden's body was thrown to sea from). The teams: UNC (which I'm an alum) and Michigan State. Some of the biggest basketball legends were in attendance; James Worthy, Magic Johnson, Vince Carter, Jerry West, Tyler Hansborough, just to name a few. Oh, and President Obama was there!
The Tarheels made me proud winning by 12 points but the best part of the night was being surrounded by 7,000 service women and men who protect this great country. Thank for all that you do, everyday.

Let's face it, I was kind of a hot mess. I had been sick for a week, broke out in a rash all over my neck/face, wasn't sleeping...I felt like crap. Worst of all, the concert I had been so excited about for the past four months was tonight. I just didn't know how I was going to make it.

Fox is doing its part to make the Red Carpet at this year's Emmys Green. They are bringong in solar panels to supply all the lighting for the red carpet and later donating the panels to the Ronald McDonald House Long Beach and Habitat for Humanity in LA. In addition, the 390-foot red carpet is the largest ever to be lit entirely by low-energy LED and fluorescent lighting. But Fox isn't stopping there:

Humans only need three things: water, food and shelter.
I was born into a loving family who was able to provide me with everything. I always had amazing food around the dinner table, a beautiful house to live in, cool clothes to wear to school and help with my homework. I am so lucky.
I was lucky enough to fly to New York to cover the premiere of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2. When I first arrived to the red carpet, all I could see were fans lined up along the streets. It was such a sight. People had been camped outside for 6 days just to hopefully get a glimpse of Harry, Hermione and Ron. Kids and adults alike were wearing hats, Hogwarts ties and capes while others waved flags and home-made posters.
Ashlan Gorse joined E! News in May 2008 as a correspondent and fill-in anchor, covering everything from red carpet premieres to breaking news. Before joining E! News, Ashlan was the host of E! News Now.
A graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill's School of Journalism with a BA in broadcasting and a minor in music, Ashlan began her professional career in the exclusive NBC Page Program in NYC. Working on shows like Saturday Night Live, the Today show and Conan O'Brien only fueled her love for all things entertainment.
Ashlan then climbed her way up at Access Hollywood in Manhattan, going from production assistant to field producer before continuing on to MSNBC as a reporter and segment producer for its weekend entertainment shows, Hot List and At the Movies. Her Southern charm led her to be a coach for MTV's Made.
In 2006, she moved to Los Angeles as the editor at large for Life & Style magazine and has since appeared on The O'Reilly Factor, the Today show, The CBS Early Show, CNN, TV Guide and The Insider as a pop-culture and gossip guru.
Ashlan has become a permanent fixture on the red carpet, covering the Oscars, Emmys, Golden Globes and Grammys. She has interviewed such Hollywood luminaries as Meryl Streep, Brad Pitt, Jennifer Aniston, Robert Downey Jr. and many more.
When she's not obsessing over celebrity culture, Ashlan loves fashion, sweet tea and stilettos.
