Angelina Jolie has filed for divorce from Brad Pitt.
After 12 years together and two years of marriage, E! News can confirm that Jolie filed for divorce on Monday, citing irreconcilable differences. In court documents obtained by E! News, Jolie is seeking physical custody of the couple's six children.
Jolie's longtime manager Geyer Kosinski released an exclusive statement to E! News Tuesday saying, "Angelina will always do what's in the best interest of taking care of her family. She appreciates everyone's understanding of their need for privacy at this time."
Shortly after news broke that Jolie filed for divorce, Pitt broke his silence.
"I am very saddened by this, but what matters most now is the wellbeing of our kids. I kindly ask the press to give them the space they deserve during this challenging time," Pitt tells E! News in a statement.
